western saddles

The USA's leading saddle manufacturer, Circle Y Saddles, has been in operation for 50 years. The company began in the little Texas town of Yoakum in 1960. Its founder, Leland Tucker, was determined to produce the best quality saddles possible. It was a family operated business until the year 2000. New owners acquired it in 2003.

The company's fine reputation is a result of excellent craftsmanship and innovative products of superior quality. Much of this success is attributed to a team of talented and dedicated employees who take great pride in their work. In total, this team has more than 1500 years of experience in saddle-making.

Circle Y Saddles sponsors some of the most prominent names in the equestrian world. These include Julie Goodnight (world famous clinician), Kelly Kaminski and Martha Josey (champion barrel racers), and Kenda Lenseigne (champion cowboy mounted shooter). Circle Y is also the official saddle of PacWest Barrel Racing and the Women's Professional Rodeo Association.

The company, which still operates in Yoakum, opened a brand new building in January 2010. This is an all-in-one structure which replaces the previous separate buildings. The move has enabled the business to become even more efficient in its quest to constantly improve its products and services.

Saddles are made for many western equestrian disciplines. These include reining, showing, Arabian, trail riding, cutting, team penning, barrel racing, ranch work and roping. The numerous designs enable riders to choose a saddle to suit their requirements. The finest leathers are used to make all saddles and tack. The finishes, silver trim and hardware are of the highest quality.

The company wanted to design a saddle fit to suit a wide selection of horses. With this in mind, the company designed and patented the Flex 2 'tree design'. This concept is now used in many saddles made by Circle Y. Another innovative design that improves comfort is the trademarked 'Softee' seat jockey which also minimizes ankle and knee strain.

The trademarked Julie Goodnight PEAK Performance saddle is beautifully crafted and offers comfort for horse and rider. This signature saddle was designed by Julie herself. Its 7-saddle line includes styles for ranch work, arena performance, gaited and trail. The Kenda Lenseigne Shooter saddles are specifically designed for the fast pace of mounted shooting. They incorporate the Flex 2 tree design which frees the horse while keeping the rider well balanced.

Kenny Harlow Performance saddles were designed by clinician and trainer, Kenny Harlow. These are ideal for all-round performance and trail riding. Then there's the John Wayne Signature Saddle with a distinctive handcrafted buckaroo design. These tough saddles will withstand the rigors of ranch work. For riders who prefer lighter saddles there's the Flex 2 Trail Hybrid.

Apart from saddles, breast collars and bridles, Circle Y Saddles has a large range of show halters. Accented in silver, these will make any horse's head look grand. Circle Y has hundreds of dealers in the USA, Canada and other parts of the world. These dealers have an excellent knowledge of all products and can help novice and professional riders with all their needs.
